After a week of crazy weather it was so good to see blue sky again, and enjoy the different effects of the beautiful sun light. I took these shots of Teasels just before the light was starting to fade, and then later in darkness, with a Sigma macro lens. Teasels are also known as Dipsacus which comes from the Greek word dispa, which apparently “refers to cup-like formation where sessile leaves merge from the stem” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipsacus). It is their changing form which fascinates me, as they go from a beautiful lilac flower, to a wintry, elaborate architectural structure .

Teasels were historically used to comb and tease the nap from the woven materials, such as wool, before being replaced by metal cards. Anyway that’s enough about history lets get get back to the present and my window.
